I’m to “run” 20 minutes a day on a treadmill right now.
I’m working on a 1 minute run, 2 minute fast walk schedule and variations around that, as I learn to run and as I build endurance for running. The first 10 minutes I can do that, it’s effort, it’s work, but I can meet that goal. The second 10 minutes not so much. I can do between 30 and 45 seconds.
Part of this is the head game of feeling confident in running at a speed on a treadmill. There’s a co-ordination there that I don’t feel yet.
The other is the knees. As I’m still over 200 pounds, the knees are getting punished with the pounding.
Daylight savings let me sleep in until 8 am this morning, usually I’d just bounce out of bed, grab a quick bite for breakfast and be on my way to the gym. But this morning I’m giving the Advil time to kick in.
This will get easier right? I will get stronger? There will be a moment where this goes from simply surviving to being able to increase strength…….right?
